The Ngonye Falls Hydroelectric Project is a sustainable run-of-river scheme generating 180 MW of renewable, low cost electricity, delivering substantial social and economic benefits with minimal environmental impact.
With a vision to generate electricity by 2026-27, this project will provide significant support to the national energy deficit. At a cost of >$650 million, it is the largest investment into the Western Province of Zambia to date, creating jobs for more than 2,000 people.
The Ngonye Falls Hydroelectric Project is a collaboration between the private sector, the host community (BRE), ZESCO and the Zambian Government.
